Lawrence J. Newman, MD

Dr. Newman has been specializing in the treatment of allergies and asthma in children and adults in Cincinnati since 1982. He received his undergraduate degree and attended medical school at the University of Michigan. He trained in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (1976-1979)and completed training in adult and pediatric allergy and asthma in Los Angeles in 1981.

Dr. Newman is currently an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a diplomat of both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is the founder and a past president of the Cincinnati Allergy Society.

Steven A. Sutton, MD

Dr. Steven A. Sutton completed his undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He trained in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (1998-2001). Dr. Sutton was a chief resident at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center from 2001 – 2002. He completed adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (2002-2005). Dr. Sutton is a volunteer Assistant Professor in the Division of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He is also on staff at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Jewish Hospital and Bethesda North Hospitals.

Dr. Sutton is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is also a member of both the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Sutton has a special clinical interest in asthma, food allergy, and immunotherapy. In addition, he has research interests in the epidemiology of allergic diseases, asthma and food allergy.

Dr. Sutton is originally from San Antonio, Texas but has enjoyed living in Cincinnati since 1998. He has a wife and three sons.

John A. Eckman, MD

Dr. Eckman is a native of the Cincinnati area and graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1994. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, he moved back to the Cincinnati area where he received his Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2002. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in 2005. The following year he served as a chief resident. In 2009, he completed a three-year fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Eckman completed his Allergy and Immunology fellowship and was board certified in 2008. He was also board certified in Internal Medicine in 2005. In addition to caring for patients with asthma and rhinitis, he has a special interest in food allergy, hives and medical education.

Dr. Eckman is married and has two children. He enjoys tennis, swimming, photography and spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid Bengals and Reds fan.
